Tap Into Your Most Under-Utilized Resource:

Engaging Your Board in Successful Fundraising to Reach Your 2023 Financial Goals

April 27, 2023

3:00 – 4:30pm ET (Virtual)

Join us for a panel discussion with folks who have the lived experience of developing boards to be extremely effective at fundraising.  Our panel includes Harvey Lowd, past chair and Paul Lessard, President of of the High Point Community Foundation and Richard Ammons of Marts & Lundy.

We will explore the path to a more deeply engaged board of directors.

Richard has spent his career helping CEOs and their boards prepare for hugely successful capital campaigns.   Harvey and Paul have worked with the Foundation’s board to grow the initial seed gift of $5 million twenty years ago to a $100 million in assets today.

Hear their stories and have the opportunity to ask them your questions directly.

When? April 27th from  3:00 pm – 4:30 pm on Zoom.

We’ll explore:

How can the board best prepare to be successful in fundraising activities?

What is special about the Board Chair’s role and how can you make the most of that relationship as ED/CEO?

What makes capital campaigns unique and how do you know when your organization is ready to undertake one?

Join us for this Executive Forum designed just for you.

“I got tremendous value from the Roundtable.  Over the next month I  implemented strategies we discussed and see  noticeable improvements in board member engagement.  Thank you!”

– Adrienne Cole, CEO, Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce

We’ll explore how to help your board get more strategic in the midst of a constantly changing environment.

  • How do you leverage the board to help answer the organization’s most critical strategic questions and take advantage of time sensitive opportunities?

  • What are the conditions and opportunities in your environment now that signal potential success in a fund raising campaign?

  • How can you align the right donors around your mission and vision?  Why is ‘no thank you’ sometimes the best possible answer from a potential donor?

  • What are the different roles board members can play in fundraising?  Does everyone have to ask for money?

  • What is the secret sauce to diversifying revenue?  If your support is concentrated in one or two buckets, when and how does it make sense to expand?

Connect with other CEOs and Executive Directors who are committed to creating a bright future for their organizations and communities.

“Teri got me to focus on ambitious goals for the organization and a vision for what North Carolina can become. She helped me connect the vision to the specific nuts and bolts of how to achieve it – fundraising, management and staff structure, board development – so that the vision isn’t just a concept. She challenged me to think about things in a way that took me out of my comfort zone, which helped me and the organization grow.  We are poised to have a banner year in revenue generation, land conservation and community engagement with environmental stewardship.”

– Reid Wilson, Former Executive Director Conservation Trust for North Carolina
